Joint Admission test for Masters is a common admission test conducted every year for admission into Master of Science and other post-graduate science programs at Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science and National Institutes of Technology, organized by alternating institutes every year. 

IIT JAM is a national level exam that is conducted to shortlist students for admission to MSc and integrated MSc courses offered by colleges accepting IIT JAM scores for admission. IIT JAM is jointly conducted by the IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISC). IIT JAM is conducted on a rotational basis by colleges participating in the exam.

The primary objective of the IIT JAM exam is to provide admission to the top IITs and NITs for postgraduate courses like M.Sc., M. Tech, and PhD.

Candidates are eligible to appear for the IIT JAM exam 2023 if they have a bachelor's degree in a Science subject related to the seven subjects or papers of IIT JAM. Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2023 will also be eligible to apply. Till 2021, there was an eligibility aggregate of 55 per cent (General category) and 50 per cent (Reserved category) in their qualifying degree. However, last year, the eligibility criteria of IIT JAM was relaxed to just pass. Age Limit Criteria: There is no age limit to appear for IIT JAM 2023 exam.
