Overview

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exam; this exam is conducted for providing admissions to eligible candidates in various engineering graduate programs like Bachelor in Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech.). It serves as a Common Entrance Test for a total of 24 Indian Institutes of Technology campuses, 32 National Institute of Technology campuses, 18 Indian Institute of Information Technology campuses, and 19 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)

What is IIT JEE Exam. IIT JEE is a national level engineering entrance exam consisting of two stages – JEE Main & JEE Advanced. JEE Main is a screening exam to select the candidates who will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, which will serve as final exam to select candidates for admission into prestigious IITs.

  • B.TECH – Bachelor of Technology (4 years)
  • B.S – Bachelor of Science (4 years)
  • B.Arch – Bachelor of Architecture (5 years)
  • B.Tech+M.Tech (Dual Degree) – Bachelor of Technology & Master of Technology (5 years)
  • B.S+M.S (Dual Degree) – Bachelor of Science & Master of Science (5 years)
  • Integrated (M.Tech) – Integrated Master of Technology (5 years)
  • Integrated M.Sc – Integrated Master of Science (5 years)

The syllabus of both the exams is also different. The JEE Main syllabus comprises of Class 11th and 12th Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. While in JEE Advanced, few extra topics are to be covered in the exam.

The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination.
